*I would, of course, I just haven’t lately. But I do hate these moments when one finds oneself at the mercy of foreign travel bureaucracies, particularly when (admittedly weary and probably much-besieged) apparatchiks seem to enjoy making you suffer. I had a similar experience in Scotland and decided I need to be either a) wealthier or b) a really top-notch Buddhist before getting in that situation again. Just taking United out of LaGuardia can make you a nihilist.
