In the modern era, when real news isn’t cooperating with your political strategy, you can simply manufacture your own. The current adminstration is getting good at working the two-fer. For example: How might you strike a nationalist, isolationist posture within a national security frame? Why, illegal immigrants versus the military, of course. As usual, there’s no debate and only the most superficial consideration of actual facts.
