Going Away Card

Andy Card is out as Bush’s chief of staff. Replacing a fuse or part of an actual overhaul? This, in conjunction with the new off-the-record tea breaks between White House reporters and the president (who seems to enjoy being a tour guide), is the first reality-based move since the administration’s numbers got down toward freezing.

So much for his anti-Karl Kung Fu. But Card has to feel some relief. He can’t just be the cheeseburger guy forever.
